Canadian country music singer and songwriter Sean Hogan performed in Moose Jaw on Feb. 27 — and launched a new coffee.
He performed at Java Express, where he first brewed up the plans for a new coffee.
The coffee has been named ‘Catalina Sunrise’ after Hogan’s single of the same name.
“One of the songs I wrote is going to be released as a coffee . . . in conjunction with Java Express,” Hogan said.
“The coffee is fantastic. I had a pound over Christmas. It’s a dark roast blend. It’s not overly bitter and it’s got a little bit of citrus to it and berry. It’s delicious,” he said.
Hogan, 43, first thought of the idea of launching a coffee back in 2005 and discussed it with the Moose Jaw coffee house owners as a joke.
But when Hogan performed at the Concert of Hope in September to raise money for the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, the idea became serious.
