Youngsters will be able to experience two plays at the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre when the Persephone Theatre comes to town on Friday.
Lig and Bittle by Elyne Quan and Jared Matsunaga-Turnball will be performed first at 9.30 a.m. and is recommended for grades kindergarten to six.
Will Brooks, of Persephone Theatre, said the play is about two characters who want to be normal.
Lig is very tall and Bittle is very small.
“They go on a journey to find where they are going to fit in,” Brooks said.
“It is all about differences and being proud of who you are.”
The second play, which will start at 1:15 p.m., is called The Shape of a Girl.
It was written by Joan MacLeod and is loosely based on the beating of Victoria BC teenager Reena Virk in 1997.
It is suitable for grades seven to 12.
“It is a much more serious play,” said Brooks. “It is a one woman show and a 15-year-old girl is watching the coverage of Reena Virk and comparing it to what’s happening in her own life.”
