Youngsters from Moose Jaw and area were able to enjoy a play at the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre while learning an important message.

The Persephone Theatre performed Lig and Bittle by Elyne Quan on Friday for students in kindergarten to Grade 6.

The play is about two characters who want to be normal. Lig is very tall and Bittle is very small.

Karly Schmitz, nine, from Chaplin, said the play was “really fun”.

“I learned that it does not matter what size you are and everybody is different.”

Devin Mandel, nine, also from Chaplin, said he enjoyed the play.

“I liked it when the monster came,” he said. “It scared the characters. I learned you should not bully even though people are different and you should respect them.”

Mason Barsi, nine, from St Mary School, also attended the event.

“I learned that everyone comes in different shapes and sizes and if someone is fat or something, it does not mean you can say mean stuff to them because everyone is special in some way.”
