A sculpture of a movie character created by a Moose Jaw student during participation in her school's art club will be displayed at the art gallery in the Saskatchewan legislature.
Angela Johnson is an Empire School student who has been participating in the school's art club, begun in early 2009 by teachers Loni Fox and Trish Kulcsar for students in Grades 5 to 8.
"We are both very artistic and thought that the students could use an after-school program that helped develop their artistic skills," said Kulcsar.
The two teachers noted that a lot of after-school programs at the school were directed to students with athletic abilities and decided there should be a club for students who were more artistically inclined.
