The Kinsmen Club of Moose Jaw will be holding its final general meeting of the 2008-09 fiscal year tonight at the Heritage Inn.
Socialization will begin at 6 p.m. with supper at 6:30 p.m. with the business portion of the meeting to start at 7 p.m.
Tonight will be the last call for nominations for the 2009-10 board of directors with elections scheduled.
Scrutinizers conducting the election will be Rick Evans, president of the K-40 Club of Moose Jaw, and Vern Fletcher, life member of the Moose Jaw Kinsmen Club.
Other guests will include Corie Ruzike-Olson of Assiniboia, who was elected as district governor for District No. 3 at the district convention held in Regina recently, and Casey Topola, also of Assiniboia, who was confirmed as deputy governor for Zone G.
Also included on the agenda will be wind-up reports for the Kinsmen Sports Celebrity Banquet and the Kinsmen Safe Driving Program, as well as the president's summary report for the past year.
On Sunday, a wind-up family barbecue for the Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs took place at Kinsmen-Wellsley Park.
The club will run the concessions for the Kinsmen Barbecue for Canada Day, July 1 in Crescent Park.
At the last general meeting held on June 8, the guest speaker was Scott MacDonald of the Moose Jaw Kinsmen Flying Fins Swim Club. Kinsmen president Russ McKnight presented the Fins with a sponsorship cheque for $2,000.
This past week, members had a work party to clean out and refurbish the Kinsmen barbecue.
The wind-up annual Kinsmen/Kinette/Kin National Convention is scheduled for Aug. 28 to 30 in Niagara Falls.
