Saturday afternoon, the Saskatchewan Burrowing Owl Interpretative Centre is officially opening its new exhibit on the burrowing owl and the prairies.
The centre, located within the Moose Jaw exhibition grounds just off of Thatcher Drive, is an educational facility dedicated to the conservation of the burrowing owl, said Janet Ng, director of the centre.
The new exhibit will feature visual displays and interactive activities that will help educate people not only on the burrowing owl, but the prairies and its landscape.
Ng said the new exhibit explores the world of the burrowing owl, from what they eat to how they live and how they interact with the other animals they call their neighbours.
Saturday's event will open with a ribbon cutting event at 1 p.m. and a Hinterland Who's Who presentation at 2 p.m., followed by guided tours, games, activities and a cake cutting.
Admission to the event is free and it will run until 6 p.m.
