Picasso, Matisse and Monet are just some of the artists children are learning about at a modern art camp in Moose Jaw.
The Moose Jaw Museum and Art Gallery is holding a host of camps for children of all ages this summer.
Youngsters aged six to eight are learning about modern art this week with summer program coordinator Johannah Bird.
“Yesterday we learned about Picasso and cubism and today we are learning about different colours so we are looking at Matisse,” she said.
“We do paintings inspired by the artists and the techniques they might have used.
“We are trying to keep it fun and help them learn about art in the process.”
The children learn about the life of a particular artist.
“We also tell some funny stories they might like such as Picasso has a long name so they like to hear that.”
