The annual Chair-ity Auction was a success, said Ross Melanson, of the Moose Jaw Museum and Art Gallery.
The annual event, raising money for children’s programs at both the gallery and Hunger Moose Jaw, raised over $4,800.
The auction featured a wide variety of chairs, paintings and photos, created by local artists.
Each piece of art presented had an individual theme, which Melanson said is one of the great things about the event, it gives local artists the opportunity to showcase themselves on a larger stage.
There were animal chairs, doodle chairs, stop chairs and more.
Selling for as little as $35, all the way up to $475, every penny raised went to two great organizations, said Glenn Hagel, the event's colourful auctioneer.
Melanson said planning for next year’s auction is already underway.
