In a YouTube video shot in his apartment, Chase Rysavy strums a tune gently on a guitar while looking directly at the camera and singing.
“I’ve been taking the time, to appreciate the powerlines. The birds, they sit on top and they’re singing their songs, so I’ll sing along. Just taking a walk, a little shortcut through the park. Well, the sun is finally shining and I’m wishing you were here. Cause my world’s been changing colours like the leaves on the trees as they fall,” he sings.
The mood is decidely mellow as Powerlines, a song off Rysavy’s first CD, is played.
Rysavy, 18, from Moose Jaw, calls his act “Me and My Anatomy.”
“I’m a solo project now. I used to be in bands, but now it’s just me, me and my anatomy,” he said.
Rysavy looks forward to his CD release party at the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre on Feb. 27.
