Regina musician Conrad Bigknife has a key songwriting partner — his wife.

She comes up with the ideas and writes the lyrics, while he provides the accompanying music.

“The best way to explain it is she’s the screenwriter. She writes the screenplay and describes the movie to me, and I compose the music for it,” said Bigknife, who performed in Moose Jaw on Jan. 10, 2010.

It’s a writing relationship that works well, said Bigknife, as the two can talk freely, and Shannon, his wife, understands his musical background and skills.

Bigknife often performs with a full band, but at his show at Casino Moose Jaw, there was just two people. He was joined by fellow musician Terry Lasko, and both sang and played the acoustic guitar.
