Being on the road and performing is just like “running away to join the circus,” according to Brian Greenway of Canadian rock band April Wine.
The group, originally formed in Nova Scotia in 1969, is heading for Moose Jaw to perform at the Mae Wilson Theatre on June 5.
They will be playing to a sell-out audience.
“It’s great to know we are going to have a full house when we get there and people are interested to come in great droves to see us,” Greenway said.
Greenway and Myles Goodwyn are the band’s original members and they will be joined by Blair Mackay and Breen LeBoeuf.
“I was the fifth member when I joined in 1977 and in 1995 it went back to a four piece band,” Greenway said.
This year the band is celebrating 40 years and in April at the Juno Awards was inducted to the Canadian Music Hall of Fame.
Some of their major hits include You Could Have Been a Lady, Tonight Is A Wonderful Time To Fall In Love, Just Between You and Me, Enough is Enough, Anything You Want You Got It, I Like to Rock, Oowatanite, Like A Lover, Like A Song & Roller.
