Beautiful paintings of English country gardens are currently on display in the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery until Aug. 29.
The exhibition called The Plant Hunter is the work of Regina based artist Anne Meggitt.
In April 2007, she travelled to four famous Cornish gardens; Trebah, Trelissick, Caerhays Castle and Heligan.
Meggitt, who grew up in England, told the Times-Herald that about 200 years ago, garden design was radically transformed by the introduction of exotic plants.
The Royal Horticultural Society funded the travels of a number of important plant collectors.
Meggitt exhibits 20 paintings which represent her impression of the gardens she visited.
The opening reception of the exhibition was held on Thursday and Meggitt said it was “wonderful”.
“I had a lot of my family here from Australia, England and California so it was really special having them here.
“The paintings look wonderful and the big space shows them to advantage,” she said.
