A Saskatchewan produced action comedy called Juice Pigs will premiere in Moose Jaw on July 23.
The 45 minute film made by Regina-based Lolofilm Productions and Echolands Creative Group deals with a gang of misfit cops who stumble upon the biggest case of their lives.
In a press release Lowell Dean, the film’s director and co-producer, said the Juice Pigs project was born out of a “pure lust” of filmmaking.
“Juice Pigs is significant because it involves people from Saskatchewan with no money but a ton of passion.
“It’s over the top, silly and violent – not the first things that come to mind when thinking of Saskatchewan-based productions.
“We wanted to have fun creating something different on the prairies, to debunk classic stereotypes. Less shots of wheat fields... more blood!,” Dean said.
The event will take place at the Moose Jaw Cultural Centre. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and showtime is 7:30 p.m.
Admission is $10.
The film is rated R due to its coarse language, violent nature and sexual themes.
