A concert with Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame and Juno Award winner Gary Fjellgaard will be held at the Western Development Museum on Aug. 19.
The aim is to raise funds for the WDM Short Line 101, Saskatchewan’s only operating steam locomotive.
It has been unable to run since 2009 because it needs a new boiler.
The concert, which will begin at 7:30 p.m., will also feature Canadian musical duo Darrel Delaronde and Saskia.
Tickets cost $20 and are available from the museum as well as at Carr’s Confectionary on South Hill.
People will be able to enjoy songs from the prairies.
Fjellgaard told the Times-Herald he was raised in Saskatchewan and much of his music is inspired by the prairies.
“I have been around for a long long time and I have written a lot of songs over the years,” he said.
Fjellgaard said he is looking forward to performing in Moose Jaw.
“Moose Jaw is one of those areas we seem to go by. We have played a lot around the Moose Jaw area but not in Moose Jaw itself.
“Saskatchewan is my home province and Darrel’s home province so there’s a lot of prairie songs,” he said.
