The seventies will come alive in Moose Jaw at the Mae Wilson Theatre tomorrow night.
Casino Regina/Moose Jaw will present Don and Debby Do the 70s from Applause Theatre at 8 p.m. with two 45 minute sets.
Stephanie Thomson plays Debby and Ryan Anderson plans Don. Together they pay tribute to the music of the 1970s with a host of impersonations including Grease, Abba, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton and Cher.
They are joined by Mark Neudorf, who plays Don and Debbie’s booking agent. He accidentally books 22 impersonators for Russia instead of Saskatchewan so the couple have to do all the performances themselves with 18 costume changes.
“The premises of the show is around music I have performed in my career,” said Thomson, who performed with Bjorn Again for six years.
“Don and Debbie are Grease performers. Don is her ex husband. They are more in love when they are divorced.
“There’s 22 different impersonations. There’s 18 costume changes and just two people doing it,” she said. “It’s a music review with a lot of comedy.
“The show just has three cast members so it’s designed to go on tour and if someone wanted to hire us, we can do it,” she said.
