Ottawa-based singer songwriter Amanda Rheaume will be performing in Moose Jaw on Sept. 12 with guitarist Jeff Logan - and she has free tickets to give away to two lucky winners.
The tour is called Best Seats in the House. Logan and Rheaume are bringing two seats on tour in their van and you could win the chance to sit in them when the pair perform at Java Express.
Rheaume, 28, said the pair will come up with new and creative ways to give away tickets to shows in each city. They are performing 25 shows in 31 days across Canada.
They will be documenting their adventures on the road through daily video blogs at www.amandarheaume.com and there will be more details about how to win the chance to sit in the special seats.
"It's interactive," she said. "These people will sit in the two chairs. It's an idea to connect with each city across the country so people will have sat in the same seats and we will put them with the best view of the show."
Rheaume will be performing songs from her new album to be released next year, which she said still needs a name, as well as songs from Kiss Me Back, which came out in 2009.
One of the songs Push On is especially significant to Rheaume as it was written to showcase the stories soldiers shared with her after she performed for troops in Afghanistan in 2009.
"It was incredibly emotional," she said. "I had never been in the middle east or a desert and really did not understand what Canada was trying to do over there before I went so I learned a lot about the humanitarian efforts that are ongoing and had a chance to talk to lots of soldiers and learn about what they were doing," she said.
