It’s 1959 in Boston, Mass., and the star of a musical called Robbin’ Hood of the Old West has been murdered.
It’s up to Lieut. Frank Cioffi, a police detective and a fan of musical theatre, to solve the mystery.
Hopefully his love of the theatre won’t interfere in the investigation.
“Frank has always had a dream of being on the stage. While investigating the murder, he keeps dropping what he’s doing and going off about the greatness of theatre,” said Jordie Richardson, a Grade 11 student at Peacock Collegiate, who played the detective in the school’s production of Curtains, a musical comedy and whodunit that ran from Feb. 9 to 11.
The show is a musical within a musical, with Robbin’ Hood of the Old West being the musical produced by the characters in Curtains.
