A wide variety of handmade works by artists and artisans from all over Saskatchewan and beyond will be heading for Moose Jaw’s Crescent Park for Canada Day.
ParkArt will see 50 booths at the event selling everything from jewelry, paintings, pottery and photography to cast concrete, fabric art, toys, soap products, stained glass and hand-carved wood.
There will also be duct tape wallets, mosaics and a wide variety of other items.
Ross Melanson, administrative assistant, who is organizing the event with administrative director Joan Maier, said this year the number of booths has grown.
“There will be a wide variety of things for all kinds of tastes and interest,” he said.
“People should expect a bunch of interesting things to look at and experience.
“It will all be at Crescent Park just right outside the library,” he said.
ParkArt is the Moose Jaw Museum & Art Gallery’s largest annual fundraiser and this year the event celebrates 34 years.
Proceeds go to educational programming for the museum and gallery.
Admission is $3 per person and children aged 12 and under can get in for free.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and there will also be free children’s events from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. These include activities related to the theme ‘the history of Canadian art.’
There will also be entertainment provided by buskers.
