The newly-appointed Moose Jaw South Central Saskatchewan Young Professionals and Entrepreneurs (SYPE) executive committee is busy planning activities and brainstorming ideas to improve the lives of local youth.
“I’m pretty enthusiastic,” SYPE president Alison Anderson (with Community Futures) told the Times-Herald on Friday. “It’s nice to have a strong executive of like-minded individuals.”
Aimed towards people age 18-34 (although anyone of any age can become a general member), the Moose Jaw SYPE chapter is a joint project between South Central Community Futures and the South Central Enterprise Region. Aimed as promoting business and opportunities in the city, SYPE’s first meeting was held on March 24.
On April 9, the group announced its executive committee, which places Anderson in the president’s position, followed by Michael Wolverine (with Fun Group) as the vice president. Vibe Graphics Lana LaLonde is the SYPE secretary and Michelle Axten (GMAC) is the director of marketing and community relations.
