Local crops are growing well, but are a bit slow this year.
Bob Woodrow, a Pasqua-area farmer, said crops near the Friendly City appear to be maturing adequately, although behind schedule.
He expects to start harvesting peas in about two weeks, whereas last year he was harvesting peas at the beginning of August.
Before harvest begins, Woodrow said about another 13 millimetres of rain would help crops grow closer to an ideal state.
"As long as Jack Frost stays away, we'll be OK."
The majority of crops in the province are in good-to-fair condition, according to Saskatchewan Agriculture's weekly crop report.
About 88 per cent of spring wheat, 87 per cent of flax, 86 per cent of canola and 85 per cent of peas are reported to be in good to fair condition.
