At 39 total, although there were six fewer local building permits issued in the month of April 2009, compared to the same 30-day period in 2008, the value of this year's April projects was worth about $1.9 million more total then last year, with a month value of about $6.8 million.
With 17 building permits issued at a total value of approximately $4.8 million, the largest category to see new construction this April was that for residential dwellings.
There were permits issued to erect five dwellings with attached garages on Woodlily Drive alone. On that street, Kopp Cabinets is building such a home for $315,000, while Coventry Homes is building one for $291,000.
