Moose Jaw will be getting a new park soon, at the north end of the Providence Place property.
At a ceremony for the Providence Place Park Development Project, Lieutenant-Governor Gordon Barnhart, landscape architect Mary Bermudez and chairwoman of the park development project, Dianne Hartell, spoke about the benefits of the new park.
"This park is opened to the residents of Moose Jaw not just the seniors living in Providence Place, we envisioned this as a park for Moose Jaw," said Hartell.
Bermudez developed a healing garden to be a part of the park.
"A healing garden is an area of greenery, flowers and plants designed to help residents and their families relax in body and spirit," said Bermudez. "It is a landscape where texture, colours and sounds are carefully balanced to create a place of peace and reflection."
Bermudez said the park is designed to help reduce stress by stimulating the senses with colours, scent and touch.
