John Aston, Century West development manager, said the construction people can see behind the Sobeys, on the corner of Ninth Avenue Northeast and Thatcher Drive East, will eventually become six-tenant commercial retail development, commonly referred to as a strip mall.
The Regina-based company bought the property, which extends south from Thatcher drive, about two years ago. Aston said the company began development on the north end of the lot in July and hopes to complete the strip mall by November.

At that time, businesses that purchase the lots will complete the developments, customizing the properties to suite their particular businesses. Aston expects the businesses to open sometime early next year.
