Dollar opened on an up note

TORONTO -

The Canadian dollar opened at 86.44 cents US this morning, up 1.63 cents from Friday's close. The U.S. dollar stood at C$1.1569, down 2.22 cents.

Pound sterling worth C$1.7917 up 0.27 of a cent, and US$1.5487 up 3.14 cents.

The Euro was worth C$1.5772, down 1.34 cents.
