As of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, the number of potential swine flu cases under preliminary investigation is now 14 and the case from the Five Hills Health Region remain unconfirmed.
"We have 14 (cases) under preliminary investigation and they are unlikely to have H1N1, or swine flu as it is commonly called," said Saskatchewan's Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Moira McKinnon
"Preliminary investigation' occurs if those cases have an influenza-like illness and have traveled to affected areas or had contact with someone from affected area. Should further testing be required, cases are then labeled as 'probable' and tests will be sent to the Canadian Science Centre for Human and Animal Health in Winnipeg for confirmation.
