Alberta man killed by machinery while doing road repairs in Saskatchewan

MAYMONT, Sask. - An Alberta man has been killed while working with heavy equipment on a highway maintenance job in Saskatchewan.

RCMP say the accident happened Monday as the man was working on Highway 16 near the community of Maymont.

Police say machinery failure caused the equipment to lose control and collapse on top of the worker, who was pronounced dead at the hospital in North Battleford.

The name of the victim, who was in his 30s, has not been released.

Maymont is about 90 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
