TORONTO -

A judge has denied bail for a Toronto man charged with allegedly trying to send nuclear technology to Iran.
Mahmoud Yadegari was arrested last month after a joint eight-week investigation conducted by the RCMP and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Judge Sheila Ray presided over Yadegari's bail hearing and today denied his bid for release.
Authorities allege Yadegari, 35, tried to procure and export pressure transducers, which can be used in the production of enriched uranium.
The UN Security Council banned exports of nuclear-related technology to Iran in 2006 because of alleged efforts to build nuclear weapons.
