The Five Hills Health Region (FHHR), which includes Moose Jaw, is expecting to end its year with a $2-million surplus.
Although the final numbers are in the process of being crunched, Cheryl Craig, the interim CEO of the FHHR, said she is pleased thus far with the region's budget.
Craig said what the surplus does is place the region in a good financial position for the coming year.
She said in these economically unstable times having a cushion is always a good thing. "You never know when something unpredictable is going to happen. So if something does happen, at least we have funds we can draw from."
