Moose Jaw's unemployment rate increases in July

While Saskatchewan's unemployment rate has decreased from last summer, Moose Jaw's has actually increased slightly.
Moose Jaw's unemployment rate was up to 6.5 per cent in July 2009, compared to 5.9 per cent for the same 31-day period in 2008.
According to Statistics Canada figures released this week, in July 2009, 17,200 Moose Javians had jobs. In July 2008, 17,800 Moose Javians had jobs.

unemployed in moose jaw from sk writes: The other day I was in the unemployment office looking for work as I have 10 years experience in construction(not homes) and noticed there were 12 stalls with computers and they were all full of people looking for work .So why hasnt the company building the mutiplex put out and add looking for employees instead of bringing there own people to Moose Jaw

You didn't think that the City awarding the contract to an out of town-Regina- firm for our new Slogan, the contract for the Multiplex to an out of Province firm, and no Buy Local Policy would have anything to do with that do you??

How can this be??? The multiplex is well underway and we have all those people employed down on the River Street Project. I have a hard time believing Moose Jaw is falling!!!!
