An anonymous donor dropped by the 2009 CHAB Family First Radiothon Thursday and handed over a cheque for $50,000 - one of many donations that helped raise $237,874 for the Moose Jaw Health Foundation.
With only minutes to go before the announcement of the two-day radiothon's grand total on Friday, Kelly McElree, executive director for the Moose Jaw Health Foundation, announced the $50,000 donation.
McElree said a man visited the radiothon Thursday at the Town 'n' Country Mall. The man said he didn't want recognition or to have his name announced, he just wanted to do his part to help the foundation and Moose Jaw Union Hospital, and then handed McElree a cheque for $50,000.
"That is the true nature of charitable giving right there. No need for recognition, just wanting to help," said McElree.
