TORONTO - Chance has transformed Lydia Nono from an unemployed factory worker to a multimillionaire.

Out of work for 16 months, the 49-year-old single mother of three adult children won $20 million in last Friday's Lotto Super 7 draw.

"I had made a copy of the winning number off the Internet, but didn't check the numbers until later when I was on the bus. I was shaking when I found out," Nono said Tuesday after getting her cheque.

She recalled phoning her son to confirm the digits.

"When he started to tell me the numbers, I was happy to get three numbers of seven, by the fourth I started to jump and I haven't stopped jumping since. It just doesn't seem real to me," she said.

Nono has been playing the lotteries for the past 20 years, but had only won $10 or $20 prizes. This win represents $1 million for every year of play.

Nono said she plans to pay off her mortgage and take a vacation.

"I have my family to help me figure out where to go. I have to make plans. There will be no shopping sprees for now," she said.

Nono, who used to work in a factory making disposable coffee cups, said she has always dreamed of owning her own little coffee shop.

"I want to keep myself busy. I don't want to get bored."
