SYDNEY, N.S. - They're honouring the best in East Coast music in Cape Breton.
The East Coast Music Awards, festival and conference is wrapping up today with a gala ceremony at Centre 200 in Sydney, capping four days of gigs that showcase the region's musical talent. Twenty-four awards were up for grabs at the gala, which were scheduled to be streamed online.
Nova Scotia's Joel Plaskett leads the pack with eight nominations, including entertainer of the year.
The singer-songwriter snagged pop recording of the year for his album "Three" earlier today when a handful of awards were handed out.
