FREDERICTON - Highlights of the 2010-11 New Brunswick budget:

-$754-million deficit recorded for 2009-10, highest deficit in province's history.

-

-$749-million deficit projected for next fiscal year.

-

-Net debt to reach more than $9.5 billion by 2011 - also a record high - meaning share of the debt for every man, woman and child in New Brunswick would be about $12,700.

-

-A plan to return to balanced budgets in 2014-15, two years later than originally expected.

-

-Health budget increases by $82.8 million to $2.46 billion.

-

-University tuition fees frozen for third straight year, community college tuition fees frozen for the fifth consecutive year.

-

-Launch of a five-year, $400-million plan to improve nursing home infrastructure.

-

-$896 million in capital spending.
