ST. JOHN, s - A UFO researcher and author from Finland says mysterious objects seen over Newfoundland last week were likely jetliners catching the winter sun.
Bjorn Borg, a retired economist who has written several books on UFOs, studied photos taken over Harbour Mille on Newfoundland's south coast.
He says he has documented more than 20 other mistaken rocket or missile sightings around the world.
Borg says low winter sunlight hitting a jetliner's vapour trail can turn yellow and red to look like fire.
Harbour Mille resident Darlene Stewart photographed what she said was a quiet, missile-like object that made no noise like a jetliner.
