Free clothing

Free clothing and small household items will be given away on Aug, 18, 1:30-3 p.m. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 409 Oxford St. W. Use the south entrance.

Used book and jigsaw puzzle sale

The Union Hospital Auxiliary will hold a used book and jigsaw puzzle sale on Aug. 28, 29 and 30 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. A penny parade will also be held and all events will take place in the Moose Jaw Union Hospital lobby. Books and jigsaws in good condition are accepted, but Reader’s Digest and Encyclopedias don’t sell.

Cosmo barbecue

Cosmo Senior Citizens Centre will have a barbecue with hot dogs and hamburgers on Aug. 29. Happy hour is 4-5 p.m. and the barbecue is 5-7 p.m. Music will be by the Cosmo Jammers. Barbecue only cost is $8 per person.

Moose Jaw Public Library

Movie Night for youths aged 10 to 18 will be on Aug. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the public library. The movie will be The Lizzie McGuire Movie. No registration is required and admission is free.

Beekeeping with speakers Gary Barber and Sarah Simison will be on Aug. 22 at 2:30 p.m. at the library. Learn about keeping bees and making honey in Moose Jaw. Admission is free.

Get Your Game On with Xbox Kinect gaming for youth aged 10 to 18 will take place on Aug. 17 at 3 p.m. at the library. No registration is required and admission is free.

Worship evening and vocal workshop

Victory Church, located at 637 Main St. N., will hold a worship evening and vocal workshop on Sept. 3 at 8:15 p.m. The workshop will include sing-a-longs with familiar songs as well as the opportunity to learn new songs. Ontario workshop duo Jason and Charmaine Grace Brown will help with the workshop, which is free. A free vocal workshop with Brown is at 7 p.m. Brown is a certified associate coach for Brett Manning, a world-renowned vocal coach in Nashville.

Understanding Arthritis

Understanding Arthritis, a session about arthritis, pain management techniques and community connections that can help, will be on Sept. 4 at 7 p.m. The session is for anyone who has been diagnosed with one of the more than 100 types of arthritis. It will be available at the Five Hills Health Region (FHHR) telehealth sites in Moose Jaw, Assiniboia, Gravelbourg, Rockglen and Central Butte. Pre-registration is required by Aug. 29. Arthritis Chronic Pain Management workshop

Arthritis Chronic Pain Management workshop, which will provide information for individuals to make their own choices in managing pain, will be on Sept. 26 at 7:30 p.m. The session will include muscle relaxation techniques, coping with depression and information about physical and cognitive pain management. It will be available at the Five Hills Health Region (FHHR) telehealth sites in Moose Jaw, Assiniboia, Gravelbourg, Rockglen, Craik and Central Butte. Pre-registration is required by Sept. 23.
