History of the Royal Canadian Navy will be at the public library on Nov. 15 at 2:30 p.m. in honour of Remembrance Day. Canadian Navy veteran Maurice “Mo” Sabourin will be speaking about his experiences in the navy and navy history from 1910 to today. Between 1958 and 1963 he held a number of positions with the navy such as radio communicator, electricians mate, gunner and radar fire control man. Admission is free.
Friends of the Library will hold a sale of used jigsaw puzzles, DVDs and CDs on Nov. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Moose Jaw ADHD
The Moose Jaw ADHD parent support group will offer information seminars on ADHD on Nov. 5 at Westmount School. The speaker is Christine Johnson-Quan, coach for the Learning Disabilities Association of Saskatchewan, former educator and has several years experience working with youth, adults and parents.
The teacher seminar will be at 4 p.m. and will focus on school-wide interventions to educate people about ADHD and strategies for people who struggle academically because of ADHD.
The parent seminar will be at 6:30 p.m. It will focus on problem-solving strategies to teach children with ADHD, understanding children, recognizing anxiety and encouraging accountability.

How to finance your education? information night will be in the R.M. Hartney Library at Vanier Collegiate on Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. It will discuss accessing RESPs, student line of credits and accounts, scholarships, bursaries and awards and the Canada-Saskatchewan Integrated Student Loans Program. It is open to all parents and students.
Used book and jigsaw puzzle sale
The Union Hospital Auxiliary will hold a used book and jigsaw puzzle sale on Nov. 7, 8 and 9 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Moose Jaw Union Hospital lobby. A penny parade will run that week. Donations of books and jigsaw puzzles in good shape can be dropped off at the hospital gift shop or pick-up can be arranged by calling the gift shop at 306-694-0355.

Buttons and Bows Square and Round Dance Club
Buttons and Bows Square and Round Dance Club will dance to CDs on Nov. 5 and Nov. 12, 7:30-9:30 p.m. in the social hall at St. Andrew’s Church. On Nov. 12 a club meeting will follow.

Old Wives 4-H Club
The Old Wives 4-H Club held their organizational meeting on Oct. 3 at the Old Wives Hall. In 2013 the club has 14 members taking beef (steer, heifer and cow/calf), sheep and cloverbud projects.
The leaders are: Shirley Rosso, general leader; Dianne Tremblay and Brian Barnett, beef leaders; Edna Doll, sheep leader; Joanne Okerstrom and Julie Davidson, clovebud leaders.
The club officers are: Raelynne Rosso, president; Megan Rosso, vice-president; Emily Okerstrom, secretary; Will Rosso, treasurer; Shawn Campbell, club reporter; Joanne and Emily Okerstrom and Bridget and Luke Andrews, delegates to District No. 8 4-H council.
The District No. 8 meeting was held in Moose Jaw on Oct. 16 and Shirley Rosso and the delegates attended.
On Oct. 20 the members of the club and parents helped with the fall supper at Old Wives Hall. Close to 200 people came for supper. Janice Stevens won the Rodo’s gift certificate.
On Nov. 2, club members will have a display at Peavey Mart in Moose Jaw to celebrate National 4-H Month.
