Two more successful fundraisers will give a financial boost to the search for missing 21-year-old Moose Jaw man Dylan Koshman.
Koshman, originally of Moose Jaw, had been living in Edmonton, Alta., for approximately seven months when he disappeared Oct. 11.
Koshman left the home of his cousins, where he was living, after an argument broke out.
He left the house in a dark T-shirt and jeans at approximately 2 a.m. and hasn't been seen since. His cellphone and bank account haven't been used.
Colette Wendzina, a friend of Koshman and one of his brothers, decided she needed to do something to help his family.
"Anything is better than nothing," she said.
She and other friends of Koshman got together to organize a steak night at the Park Hotel Saturday and sold out their tickets.
Wendzina said many people donated their tickets back to the cause, while others simply made additional donations. When all was said and done, the event raised roughly $2,500.
The money will be used to help offset costs incurred by Koshman's family members who have travelled to Edmonton to conduct a search. Wendzina said the family was grateful for the effort.
The Church of Our lady Knights of Columbus also held a roast beef night at Chillers' Saturday for Koshman's family. That event raised $1,200 and additional donations were collected at Sunday's church service.
Koshman has brown hair and hazel eyes. He is in good physical condition at approximately 5'9" tall and weighing 190 lbs. A scar from a childhood accident resembles a deep dimple on his left cheek.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
Several web pages including details of Koshman's disappearance have also been established on Internet sites, such as Facebook.
