The Big Country Toastmasters’ 48th Anniversary Meeting held Feb. 24 had Simon Wells as the chairperson and Toastmaster.
The theme was 48th anniversary and the word of the day was frenetic which means frenzied or frantic. Members were encouraged to use their creativity in using the theme and word of the day in their introductions.
Guests included past members of Big Country Toastmasters and potential new members.
Katrina Janzen conducted a workshop titled the Best That I Can Be, taken from the Advanced Story Telling Manual. Using a true account of one young woman's struggle with a tragic background, she gave examples of how to rise above personal hardships to attain goals. She said every day brings new challenges and new beginnings. We are the only person responsible for being the best that we can be.
Refreshments were enjoyed for the anniversary celebration.
