Seniors raising money for renovations

Renovations to the lower sports level and walking track at Timothy Eaton Gardens will be supported by the fourth annual fundraising banquet being sponsored by Moose Jaw & District Seniors Association.

    The banquet and silent auction will be held March 19 at the centre, with cocktails at 5:30 p.m. and supper at 6 p.m. The evening will also include a silent auction and dancing to the music of Band City Band.

    Ticket information is available at the office.

    The Winter Apple Tea that was postponed from an earlier date will now take place Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and will feature entertainment and a penny parade. Tickets will be available at the door.

    The association is involved in the community volunteer income tax program and has a volunteer available to do seniors’ tax forms. Information about the service is available by calling the office at 694-4223.

    A karaoke morning is planned for March 25 from 10 to 11 a.m. with members and guests invited to sing a song or listen to the music.

    April’s social dance is scheduled for April 3 at 8 p.m. with music by Al & Company and a midnight lunch provided.

    Easter brunch will be served April 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., with tickets available at the door.

    A pancake and waffle breakfast is planned for April 9 from 8 to 10 a.m., with tickets available at the door.

    Whist players will participate in a tournament April 10 with registration at 9:30 a.m. and games at 10 a.m. The entry fee will include refreshments and a hot lunch.

    The 114th annual Old Timers Banquet will be held April 12 with recognition given to the oldest man and woman present. Entertainment will be provided by Howie and Brenda Johnson. Ticket information is available at the office.

    Plans are being made for the 20th annual giant garage sale to take place April 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    The Golden Voices Choir spring concert will be held May 7 at 7 p.m.

    Information about all programs of the association is available by calling the office at 510 Main St. N. at 694-4223.
