A magical show of music and comedy with the wonderful fairy story of Cinderella will be coming to the Mae Wilson Theatre to celebrate the Christmas holidays this year.

There will be eight performances of Cinderella from Dec. 27 to 31 with laughter for the whole family. The Moose Jaw Times-Herald is a major sponsor of the show.

The traditional fairy tale of love and magic is certainly intact — but it will be told in a fresh and funny new way with plenty of slapstick.

The production will be presented in the tradition of British festive entertainment so people will be encouraged to participate by booing the villain or warning a character of impending danger by shouting “he’s behind you!”

Cinderella has a professional cast of theatre performers who are originally or currently from Moose Jaw, Regina and Brandon.

The cast members are Tara Federko, Daniel Falk, Leon Willey, David Playfair, Brian Bowley, Brad McDougall and Marianne Woods.

There will also be a chorus provided by youngsters from the Doris Sitter School of Dance.

Well-known Moose Jaw actor Leon Willey, who divides his time between Saskatchewan and B.C, will play the role of Dandini, Prince Charming’s side-kick.

Moose Jaw Cultural Centre audiences will have seen him in River Street, Ain’t We Got Fun! and Who Is Mrs. Wilson?

“Dandini is the very comedic best friend, side-kick of the prince. He is usually trying to get the prince out of a jam or into a jam,” Willey told the Times-Herald.
