Community association program registrations begin this week

Community association joint registrations will take place Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Town 'n' Country Mall.
Individual registrations will continue Tuesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Kinsmen Sportsplex for the East Side and North West Community Associations; at Empire School for the South Hill Community Association; and at Sunningdale School for the Sunningdale/VLA Community Association.
Ongoing registrations for all association programs will begin Sept. 9 at the sportsplex.
Girls' fastball pitching in three age categories, and lessons in Tai Chi Chen will be offered by the East Side Community Association, making use of St. Margaret School and Prince Arthur School. Pitching begins Sept. 16 and runs to Dec. 9 and Tai Chi Chen begins Sept. 23 and continues to Dec. 16.
Programs at Sunningdale School will include co-ed indoor soccer, babysitting, functional strength and stretch, fitness kickboxing, indoor bootcamp, kindergym and 20/20/20 fitness. A kids' night out for children six to 12 years will take place Oct. 23 from 6 to 9 p.m. and will include crafts, movies and games.
North West Community Association will offer floor hockey at Palliser Heights School; aerobics and strength conditioning at King George School; babysitting and seniors' caravan at the Kinsmen Sportsplex; co-ed indoor soccer, pump-it up fitness and fencing at St. Michael School; and badminton and knit and crochet at William Grayson.
Kids' night out sessions will take place Oct. 30. Nov. 20 and Dec. 18 at King George. Activities will include seasonal crafts, movies and games.
Programs for the South Hill Community Association at Riverview Collegiate will include women's competitive volleyball, power point, personal computing, Microsoft publishing and Windows movie maker. Programs at Empire will be taekwondo for children and adults, kicks for kids, social dancing, country western dancing and swing and jive dancing. Taekwondo will be offered at St. Mary School.
Sacred Heart School will have indoor fastball pitching for various ages; Westmount School will have haidong gumdo and dancing for kids.
Beginners' no hit co-ed hockey for different ages will be played at the Wally Boshuck Arena. Under the lights co-ed blastball for ages five to nine years will take place at Optimist Park.
The Friday night activity club for Grades 6-8 will run Fridays from Sept. 11 to Dec. 18 from 6:45 to 8:45 p.m. and for Grades 9-12 from 8:45 to 10:45 p.m. at Riverview Collegiate.
Two walking tour explorations of the wild animal park area will take place Sept. 27 and Oct. 4 from 1 to 4 p.m., leaving from the Wally Boshuck Arena.
The Caravan for Seniors 55 years and up will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from Oct. 6 to Dec. 3 from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at the Kinsmen Sportsplex. Transportation is provided to the sportsplex. Information about programs is available by calling 694-4481.
