REGINA - The Saskatchewan government has cancelled the certificates of registration for the Regina and Swift Current branches of the Academy of Learning.
Ann Lorenzen of the Education Department says the private, post-secondary vocational schools, which offer a variety of programs offering office training, had breached provincial legislative requirements.
She says the schools were not meeting rules regarding tuition refunds and owed about $80,000 to 14 students.
Lorenzen says the students will either be relocated to other schools or will be offered training completion funds from a sort of self-insurance fund operated by all the private vocational schools in the province.
There were 28 students at the school in Swift Current and 34 in Regina.
