It doesn't take much to fill a backpack for a student heading to school this fall - if five or six people are contributing to it.
A single parent filling two or three backpacks might find the task a little onerous. It might mean stretching the food budget a little, putting off a utility bill for a month or two, or getting one more year out of those sneakers.
The Times-Herald back-to-school supply drive helps those families that can't quite make it all the way through the list. Donations might mean topping up the notebooks, binders, gluesticks or crayons a student needs.
Many residents of this city no longer have to purchase school supplies, but are maybe in a better position to do it now than when they had to and know what it means to have a little help.
And Moose Jaw people are always generous when there is a need. This year, the need is greater than ever. Pick up a few extra supplies and donate them.
