Gearing up for Focus on Trade

Moose Jaw get ready to focus on trade.
The 27th annual Focus on Trade show is coming to the Moose Jaw Exhibition Convention Centre April 18 and 19.
Heather Kennedy, show co-ordinator, said over 100 booths are expected at this year's show, featuring products and services from businesses both near and far.
"We get people from Regina and we get people from Alberta - kind of all over the place," she told the Times-Herald. However, most businesses represented at the trade show will be from Moose Jaw and area.
The range of displays at the show varies, Kennedy said. Some businesses will be advertising landscaping products, others plastic cookware, while others will be service clubs and non-profit organizations.
"It's such a wide variety, it's hard to mention everybody."
She said some people will just have pamphlets at a table, while others will be selling products right on the spot.
"It really depends on the business and what they're promoting."
On average, Kennedy said up to 3,000 patrons attend the annual show. Food is available at the concession and its an opportunity for people in Moose Jaw and area to see what products, services and businesses are available.
Since spring will be underway when the event is held, home improvement and gardening products should be popular.
"It's a great time, because it's April and people are getting ready to get out and do renovations on their houses."
On the Saturday of the trade show, doors are open to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Sunday, it's open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Admission is $5 per person, with children ages 10 and under getting in free when accompanied by an adult.
