"It shined like a disco ball," the Ghost Whisperer star told host George Lopez.
Love Hewitt also told Lopez that in her new dating book, The Day I Shot Cupid, she's devoted a whole chapter on how women should "vajazzle their vajayjays."
Since the TV appearance, the terms vajazzle" and "vajazzling" have spread like wildfire all over the web. It's likely also been an introduction to the masses who were previously unaware such a service existed, whereby Swarovski crystals are applied to the nether regions following a Brazilian wax.
While the concept might be new for many, it's been a mainstay at Completely Bare for years. The New York-based spa offers what they describe as "Completely Bare With A Flair."
After going the full Monty with hair removal, clients have the option of choosing among designs or having a custom one created for a little down-low bedazzling. The full process takes about an hour and the design typically lasts about five days.
Owner Cindy Barshop said while people have continued to get the service over the years, Love Hewitt has certainly done her part to pique interest.
"People still did it, but it wasn't all over the press, and she basically just brought it back to the press," Barshop said. "I definitely see an increase in the Completely Bare vajazzle now."
Bryce Gruber, editor of theluxuryspot.com, who visited the spa to get vajazzled, not only wrote about the experience but also had a camera crew to capture the process, which has since been posted online.
"While I've received countless positive e-mails, there's definitely been an outpouring of 'WTF?!' and 'seriously?!!"' she wrote in an online post on the site dated March 1.
For those seeking to go the do-it-yourself route, Completely Bare also sells an at-home kit online where would-be vajazzlers can select from crystal tattoos like a butterfly, peace sign, heart or sunburst.
"People love it. It's like getting a new lingerie, it's like getting a new outfit," Barshop said of the process.
"They feel good about it, it's fun."
Wax Hair Removal Bar in Vancouver also offers their own "finishing touch" post-Brazilian wax as a service called "Bling Your Thing." Clients spend $29.99 for the Swarovski crystals, $30 on the waxing.
Owner Luba Sasowski said they've been offering it for a year, and not just for the ladies.
Men also do it - and that includes the wax, which they refer to as the "Boyzilian" for the fellas.
Sasowski said the service has been particularly popular among clients seeking a little something special for weddings and anniversaries.
"If you're with that partner that has everything, (it's) kind of just a little extra, or you can just feel like a million bucks walking around with something in your pants that no one else knows about."
