Moose Javians are invited to visit local studio artists to take in behind the scenes craft work and enjoy their creative art.

The second annual Moostletoe Artists Studio Tour again invites the public to enjoy a self-driven tour of artists’ studios 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday Oct. 27.

“This year we welcome nine artists at six stops that will be well marked

By the Moostletoe signs –– red balloons and route markers,” artist Monica DeCampo told the Times-Herald.

DeCampo, along with glass artist Sue Hunchuk will be a part of the tour at B.Monicats Pottery Studio and want the public to know the tour can be started at any of the participating locations.

“People can start downtown or at the pottery on the highway, where ever it is easiest,” DeCampo said.

The events will also include veteran painter, muralist and well know art teacher Gus Froese; who will open his studio to the public in the Hammond Building where he recently completed a new mural.

The Moose Jaw Art Gallery will feature the paintings of Andrew Meredith; and potters, Wendy Parsons and Zach Dietrich will host newcomer jeweler Anna McDonald at their studio.

“I started the event because we didn’t have a fine art show in town,” DeCampo offered. “People loved the event last year and knew we had to offer it again.”

Potter Claude Morin will show new work, fresh from his new gas kiln; and Monicats Studio will showcase colourful porcelain will guest glassmaker Sue Hunchuk. The Yvette Moore Gallery will be open to the public, where Moore will be present to greet the public with her latest works. Maps will be available at all artist’s locations and at the Tourism Moose Jaw Visitor Centre.
