Moose Jaw -

Nature Moose Jaw will be meeting Sunday at Wood Acres for its annual pancake breakfast and general meeting. Prior to the breakfast and meeting, there will be a morning bird hike at Wakamow at 7:30 a.m. Anyone who wishes to join the hike is welcome. The pancake breakfast is at 9 a.m. Doors open at 8:30 a.m..
Anyone interested in attending the hike and still wishing to buy tickets for the breakfast is asked to call Kimberly Epp at 681-7604.
Board and committee members for the coming year include: Epp, president; Dolly Mackin, vice-president; Russ McKnight, memberships; Fern Dowse, health and welfare; George Holman, Wakamow representative; Sheina Wait and Margaret Moran, lunch committee; Larry Going, bird feeder; and Earl Boan, greeter.
A field trip to Indian Head to Lorne Scott's farm is planned for July 12 for the program, Curious Carrion Connisoures.
A trend in recent years has been the utilization of old houses and their attics as nesting sites for turkey vultures. These new nesting habitats are so important they are being protected and studied. Other birds and wildlife also use these old houses as nesting sites, burrows and dens. Anyone interested in learning more about nature is welcome to attend this program at no cost. For further information, please contact Epp at 681-7604 or at kepp@shaw.ca.
