Moose Jaw -

Les Gray was a part of the Five Hills Health Region board of directors for 14 years. His tenure as a director ended when he and 10 other board members were dismissed last week.
"It was an absolute shock. I don't think any of us who were replaced are happy," said Gray.
His activities on the board included care for seniors, Special Olympics, SARCAN, Canadian Council of Rehabilitation and the Eco Development Commission.
He said the board's biggest achievement was the creation of a dialysis suite at the hospital.
"We never did run a deficit. We were quite serious about how we managed public funds," Gray said.
With so many years invested in the board and health community, Gray is concerned for the new members.

Sounds like a man who did his job well and was justifiably upset to be dismissed for no reason. Please school me as to what being an NDPer has to do with it.

Recently the Minister of Health asked for comments about health care in Sask. I am sure what the Minister of Health heard from the public motivated him to get some new blood on all of the boards at all of the Health Regions.

When citizens of Moose Jaw have to start going to Regina for care that IS SUPPOSED TO BE available in Moose Jaw but is not available, then perhaps the Minister of Health thought it was time to do something.

When it comes to health care, for many residents balancing the budget isn't as important as having access to health care in their own city/region, especially when children/youth are involved.

Let's hope that the new Board will make a difference in access to and the delivery of health care services.

The only reason he was on that board for 12 years was because he was NDP.
    Duhhhhh.....

That's how many of these boards work.

He is just a bitter man that thinks he is the only person who has ever volunteered or offered to support someone less fortunate than him.

I think more people than Mr. Gray can run a budget. From the people chosen, I'm sure there will be lots of fresh and new ideas that aren't tired and old.
