On Wednesday, the Times-Herald confirmed a local Saskatchewan Environment conservation officer did rescue a family of ducks trapped in a large hole.
As reported in the Times-Herald, Don and Brenda Hanson, Moose Jaw Subway Esso operators, were at the Manitoba Street East gas station on Tuesday, when they saw a duck slip into an open pit next to the building, which will soon be filled with new gas tanks for the pump station.
Upon looking into the hole, they saw a hen duck and her ducklings. The couple immediately set out to inform the proper authorities.
After rescuing the ducks the local conservation officer set them free.
