QUESNEL, B.C. - An 84-year-old Quesnel, B.C., man riding his ATV during a heavy windstorm has died after his barn suddenly toppled over on him.

RCMP Staff Sgt. Gary Clark-Marlow says the farmer, Alfred King, died almost immediately when the barn came down on Monday.

Clark-Marlow says the area was hit with a major storm just before the accident, complete with heavy rain and even ice pellets.

King was driving near the barn when the roof portion came down on top of him.

Quesnel RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating.
